Children will create unique art with individual guidance from the instructor. They will be taught techniques to improve their basic drawing skills. Kids will learn color theory and the elements of design by exploring drawing, pen and ink, watercolor, printmaking, collage and cartooning, art history and more.
Kids are encouraged to expand their own imaginations and explore new media and techniques. With this new confidence, their creativity will skyrocket!
Classes are held at my home studio in Petoskey.
Mary Jill Lemieur has taught adult and children's art classes for sixteen years. She has worked as a substitute art teacher in the Petoskey schools, taught art at the Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey, and North Central Michigan College, and currently works as an artist in residence in schools for VSA of Michigan, and as a children's book illustrator.
